I was born in the later part of 1983. I am giving a testament account of
abuse by the hands of my dad Joseph Vincent Lowery, my Mom, and second marriage
to my Mom, aka stepdad (Fuck-Face). Mom was a smoker, began when she
was 16 and quit at about 32 or 33 years of age, due to a surgery she was going
to have. Mom became involved in drugs, Meth or Herone while pregnant with me. (Possible
even beforehand). Mom became involved with dad in her late-teens years. I am
unclear if they dated ever before they were married in 1983 while Mom was
pregnant with me. They married two months to the day before me being born. Mom
was barely 19, and dad was 24/25 when they got married. JV was a smoker, heavy
drinker, and enjoyed his “lady-love,” better known as heavy drugs. I am not
sure when the abuse began by dad’s hands towards my Mom, if before their
wedding day. My place of birth was in Loma Linda, San Bernardino County,
California. At Loma Linda Hospital University time of delivery was at 8:15 am.
I was born at 24 to 28 weeks, which is quite early when a full-term pregnancy
should be 40 or so weeks. I was 1-1/2 pounds weight, 13 inches long, and could
fit my grandpa’s palm (fingertips to wrist). My grandpa is my Mom’s dad. Mom claimed that I was born early because JV
went over a bump in his vehicle, causing Mom to hit the top of her head on the
vehicle’s roof, so she went to the doctor. The doctor said everything was fine,
although she was bleeding or spotting as the fact. Years later, I found out
that it was done to her drug use, which caused my early pre-term birth. Not the
way, she initially claimed and pounded into my head for years upon years. Also,
my testicles were in-side my groin area, whether born that way or happened
over-time. I do recall receiving shots as a young child. Maybe in the hope of
my testicles dropping correctly, or if the chances were a growth booster. I am
not sure. I did not begin to walk until 10-12 months of age. (It has been said
that I had to be in Therapy assistance to gain motor and speech tactics, though
not sure if this is genuinely true.) I had to be revived by the doctor(s) and
nurse(s) twice because my heart had stopped beating. I was told several people
were there while I was born. Aside from that, I was told by my mother that her
mother (Grandma Constance) suggested to my mother that if I were to die that my
burial should consist of a shoebox, to not pay for the proper casket for my
potential burial. Knowing this has always hurt my feelings and pissed me off. I
always felt as if I was viewed through their eyes as worthless. To me, and most
humans beings, this was, (her treatment of me) considered inhumane, and
disrespectful to say the least. The way they spoke of me made it seem like my
death was more of a concern to their economic importance, due to burial fees,
at that time. Alongside the hospital fees, they seemed burned with, for the
fight of my new life, then the concern for me to survive. Once I was discharged
from the hospital, my mother and father took me to a place they lived at that
point in a town called Flagstaff, Arizona. As a newborn, I was inevitably
dependent on their love, care, compassion, protection, and hope they would be
positive, well-minded, mindful, and decent parents. But me being a baby this I
had no control over, we cannot control who we have as parents.
